July 28th, 2010

IV-P performed their class play, Odysseus, at the Stagecraft Cabinteely Drama Festival. Over the years, Castle Park pupils have picked up quite a number of awards at this festival and this year was no different.

The class put on a terrific performance, so much so that the judge said that after a while he stopped taking notes and just sat back and enjoyed the play. Ella Duffy, India Kelly and Phoebe Shortall won acting medals. Julia O’ Doherty was awarded Best Actress in her section for her portrayal of Queen Penelope, while Henry Carroll received the Best Supporting Actor Award for his wonderfully comic performance. Matthew Jackmauh was outstanding in the title role and he was given the award for Runner-up Best Actor. The production also won Best Play, Best Producer and a special award for the script.
