History

The traits we wish to develop in a young historian are a deep and enduring interest in the subject, fed by wide reading and an appreciation of the correct methods of historical research. The School’s interactive whiteboards, Kar2ouche software package and access to the Internet, afford our pupils the opportunity to learn History in a visually stimulating and highly effective way.
History is taught for one hour each week. In addition, the subject provides regular cross-curricular links with English, Art, Music, Drama, Science and ICT. Our work in the classroom is supplemented by educational field trips to the Dalkey Heritage Centre, Trim Castle, Kilmainham Gaol and the GAA History Museum.
