Modern Foreign Languages (French and Spanish)

Modern Foreign Languages at Castle Park

The vision of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teaching is to develop a love for languages and a desire to communicate with other nationalities. It is also to help the pupils to realize the importance of languages in today’s world. French is taught to Forms I-V and Spanish is taught to Form VI by a specialist teacher.

In both languages, there is an emphasis on role-play, using everyday situations where the students can see the practicality of what they are learning and where they can use the information given. Students are encouraged to explore the language to the best of their ability.

When the pupils start secondary education they have a solid foundation on which they can start to build other languages or continue to expand their current knowledge of French and Spanish.
