Overview
Castle Park is an independent primary school in south County Dublin for boys and girls aged 3+ to 12+ and is renowned for academic excellence. Castle Park is a local School that warmly welcomes families from an international background. At the heart of our educational philosophy is a nurturing, family-based approach to pastoral care where staff set high expectations and pupils have clear boundaries for good behaviour.
From an early age we place great emphasis on children becoming independent learners. Through engagement with a broad and balanced curriculum, we strive to make the most of each child’s ability. We have an extensive computer network with a range of modern educational software and interactive whiteboards throughout the school, which enable us to use ICT as a key resource for learning and teaching.
Accreditation
Castle Park is accredited by:
- The National Education and Welfare Board (NEWB)
- The Association of Montessori International (AMI)
- The Incorporated Association of Preparatory Schools (IAPS).
Castle Park is a member of the Association of Independent Junior Schools (AIJS) and the Independent Schools Council (ISC).
The School Year
There are approximately 170 teaching days divided into three terms in our academic year. The Autumn Term runs from the beginning of September to Christmas, the Spring Term is from January to Easter and the Summer Term from March/April until the end of June.

Senior Schools
Pupils go onto leading independent and state Senior Schools. We enjoy a close working relationship with Sandford Park School (for boys) and St Columba’s College (co-educational), and Rathdown and Holy Child (for girls). Some boys go onto Gonzaga or Blackrock College, while those pupils looking for co-education may go to St Gerard’s (Bray), St Andrew’s College or Wesley College. Castle Park supports parents in making the most appropriate choice of school for their child.
