Religious Education at Castle Park

Castle Park is an interdenominational school with a strong Christian ethos that welcomes children from all denominations and other faiths. RE is taught as part of the curriculum and is augmented by weekly visits to our Prep Dept.  Assembly from the local Church of Ireland Rector and also from the local Roman Catholic Priest. Children are prepared for First Holy Communion and Confirmation as appropriate.

Many of the Assembly themes are based on the liturgical calendar, such as, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter, but we are also keenly aware of the need to make children familiar with the basic tenets of other major world faiths, including Judaism and Islam. The customs of other nationalities e.g. Thanksgiving and Chinese New Year are also covered, as well as environmental concerns such as global warming and energy conservation.
