MUSIC
Music, which is taught by a highly qualified and experienced specialist music teacher, is at the heart of the School’s creative arts programme. The department is based in the Music Centre in the Castle which is equipped with a wide range of resources. The core strands of performing, composing, listening and responding form the basis of the timetabled provision for all pupils in the School from Junior Montessori to Form VI.
Children can also opt to study piano after school with one of our visiting peripatetic teachers and individual or small group lessons in guitar, string, woodwind, voice and percussion are also available.
Music plays an important part in the calendar of events throughout the School year with concerts, recitals, the annual Carol Service, musicals, competitions and festivals; every pupil performs regularly for audiences in excess of 100 adults.
