During the summer term boys and girls participate in a wide range of athletics disciplines during their timetabled PE and Games classes.  Athletics is also offered as an after school "hobby" during the summer term.  We enter a squad for the Primary Schools Championship each year and the culmination of the School's own sporting calendar each summer is Parents' Day and Sports Day in the middle of June when all pupils compete, representing their House, in field and track events.

School Mile Challenge, 4th May

A big round of applause for all our runners and walkers in this year's Challenge! Thankfully the weather had improved by Friday and all classes excitedly faced up to the Challenge of the mile long course which started with a lap of the Front Pitch, then a run across the front of the Castle, through to the Prep playground and down past the Astroturf and back up to the Front Pitch for two more circuits.  Wristbands will arrive shortly once pupils' times have been logged by Athletics Ireland and will be distributed as soon as we receive them.
