Spring Term 2012
Week of 19th March
Form III and Form IV Gala - all of our pupils had a wonderful afternoon at the first swimming gala since Christmas. Alexandra College, St Michael's and St Gerard's travelled to join us at our pool. Everyone was so excited to get started, with the C P pupils wearing their new t-shirts and looking very smart. Our girls got off to a flying start and they captured the overall title for Form III. Our Form IV girls were beaten by 2 poins in the end, but finished in a brilliant second place. Our boys swam really well and they also finished second in both Form III & Form IV events. Well done to everyone for taking part. There will be more swimming galas after Easter.

Autumn Term 2011
Tuesday 22nd November
AIJS Swimming Gala Over 20 boys and girls completed in the AIJS Swimming Gala hosted by Terenure College. All the pupils were very excited as they needed to swim very well to gather as many points as possible for their team. It was a fun filled Gala where everyone swam extremely well. The Form V and VI boys finished second overall - this was a great achievement as we just missed out on actually winning by three points. The Form V and VI girls finished third overall and swam very well in all their relays. All the pupils represented the School very well - keep up the good work. (Ms A Davey)
Saturday 12th November
Leinster Schools Swimming is a regional branch of the Irish Schools Swimming Association which is responsible for the development of competitive swimming within schools in Ireland. Each year, Leinster Schools Swimming operates a number of events as qualifiers to Irish National Schools Competitions. These competitions cater for all levels of ability - from novice competitors to elite athletes.
We entered over 20 pupils into the competition which took place on 12th November. It was a wonderful day and the competition was extremely high. Most pupils competing in this event swim with their club at least four times a week. The U9 and U10 boys and girls were in the morning and all of our swimmers swam well and were unlucky to miss out on medals in several events. We were however rewarded in the U10 boys' relay event, claiming a silver medal with Bas, Drummond, Bjarne and William swimming very well. The U11 and U12 boys and girls were on in the afternoon and again all of our swimmers knocked seconds off their times. This is a great achievement for them all - well done! (Ms A Davey)
